Riyadh (Web Desk – 31st March 2021) The PIA gave good news to millions of Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia. Now flights will also be operated from Pakistani cities to Taif and Abha.
There are more than 2.6 million Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia, the number of Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia is increasing every year. In addition, more than 2 million Pakistanis come to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah. Most Saudi airports are overcrowded all the time, including Jeddah, Medina and Riyadh airports.
However, now there is great news for Pakistani passengers. After Al-Qassim Airport, there will soon be flights from Pakistan to two more Saudi cities. PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez said that Pakistan International Airlines has decided to expand flight operations by operating flights to more international airports. Profitable routes will be preferred in this regard.
With more than 2.5 million Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia, international flights will now be launched to Taif and Abha. He said that last year the Saudi government had allowed flights from Islamabad and Lahore to Al-Qassim Airport, but due to the Corona epidemic, these flights could not start at present due to temporary restrictions on flight operations.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has also sought permission from Saudi Civil Aviation to fly to Taif and Abha. After getting permission, flights from Lahore and Islamabad to Taif will be launched soon. PIA will operate 2 weekly flights from Lahore and Islamabad to Abha. In this way, Pakistani travelers will have direct access to two more Saudi cities. If flights to Taif start, it will be the seventh PIA station. It should be noted that the Saudi government had recently allowed PIA to operate two weekly flights to Qassim.
