The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has announced that any violations related to car parking will now be penalized online instead of affixing a challan ticket on the windshield of the car concerned. The new system will be operational tomorrow, Sunday, March 28. A Twitter message from the Road Authority said, "From March 28, paper tickets will not be issued for car parking violations, but violations will be reported via SMS or email."
The new initiative aims to reduce environmental pollution. All persons should update their mobile number and e-mail address in their traffic file. For this, they have to call 8009090. ”The authority has warned that non-payment of parking fee will result in a fine of one hundred and fifty dirhams. Fine of 100 dirhams will be levied for parking more than the specified parking hours.
Starting Sunday, March 28, all paper parking violations will stop, and you will receive paperless violations via SMS & email instead, in a new, more environmentally friendly way.
